More Chinese elements
Nokia 6108 includes some features typically for Chinese
users. The pen-based hand recognition is good for Chinese words input.
Besides, it includes a built-in Lunar Calendar JAVA programme which shows
the Chinese traditional festival days and converts from Gregorian to Lunar
and vice versa. Also 6108 has a Chinese-English-Chinese dictionary. It
provides list of synonyms and antonyms of Chinese and English words. The
built in library includes more than 100 000 words. If you want to learn
Chinese, this phone is a good tool. Moreover, there are five Chinese "Yin-Yeung"
elements that is, earth, wood, fire, water, and gold themed animated and
static graphics for wallpaper use.
Enhanced from 7250 and 6800
Nokia 6108 uses Series 40 interface. The menu
icons are the same as the 6100. Besides the new hand writing
recognition input, the other functions of 6108 are well equipped comparing
with 7210 and 6100. Most features are improved from 7250 and 6800. The 7250
is the first Series 40 colour display handset including programmable
right side menu key. Users can assign the most frequent features for the
short cut key. Nokia 6108 also includes this feature. Also, users can view the images from the gallery. If you feel
the image is not sharp enough or too small, you can adjust the contract
immediately or zoom in the image. Also, users can assign a colourful operator
logo instead of the old black and white type. Nokia 6108 also includes a
built in email client. It also equips a XHTML browser which supports full
colour user interface with richer contents. It supports one email box either
POP3 or IMAP4 protocol. 6108 also includes almost all Series 40 phones
features like 4096 colours display, 4 chord polyphonic ring tones, JAVA
application supported, picture messaging and MMS. It usesPop Port
interface, meaning that users can plug in the camera headset to take photos
for wallpapers and MMS. However, like the old brother 6100, 6108 does not
have FM radio.
