Sony Ericsson Z520i
The second new phone is Z520i. The clamshell fashion phone also comes equipped with exchangeable ¡¥style up¡¦ cover. From the live pictures, we can see the actual size of Z520i is pretty small. The white color version is also good for ladies too. I really like the clamshell open mode, which is very similar to ¡¥kawayee¡¦ lovely Japanese handsets. 

Concerning the features, the Z520i becomes the middle to lower ties. It uses TFT 65k color screen but in 128 x 160 pixels resolution only. The outer screen uses CSTN screen with 4k color and 101 x 80 pixels. The outer screen is used to show caller picture and camera preview area. The cover also can act as unique call incoming indicator by producing 8 different lighting patterns,which are paired with melodies and linked to the phonebook contacts

The phone also comes with a VGA camera that supports both still pictures and video taking. Z520i also comes with a Netfront Browser for normal webpage browsing, IrDA and bluetooth for data sharing, a unique game ¡¥New York Nights¡¦ by GameLoft. 

The most impressed features for me of Z520i is the support of GSM QUAD band. It means that the phone can be used across 5 continents. The support of EDGE is definitely in Hong Kong. Users can choose EDGE phone for fast data connection without the only Nokia choices.

The phone comes with 16MB internal memory and supports MP3 and AAC ringtones. You can find it on the market in the 3rd quarter of the year.


 

 





Sony Ericsson K608i and J210i
Remaining two phones are the old look with smarter color or feature enhancement. I am impressed by the K608i, which is actually the different color version of 3G K600i announced in the March 2005. The main difference is the earpiece shape design. Other features remain unchanged but still charming. It is the smallest 3G video phone, with 262k 1.8k TFT color display. The phone back comes equipped with a 1.3 megapixels camera. The phone also got FM radio and mp3 players. The few 30MB internal memory and no memory card support are the main drawbacks. The K608i comes with silver (same as the one of K600i) and pure white color and will be available in the Q3 of 2005. 

The final one J210i is the entry level phone. The outlook is the same as J200i that is currently selling in the worldwide market. J210i got feature upgrade. The screen becomes 65k CSTN display rather than outdated 4096 colors used in J200i. It finally supports MMS sending and receiving, while MP3 ringtone is still missing.
