We still remember that Siemens left behind with the
colour display mobile phone for 1 year from other mobile
phone manufacturers like Sony Ericsson. The launch of
built- in camera model is also half year left behind from
the other. Being late is better than nothing. Siemens
finally launched their fist embedded camera phone MC 60
in a press event in Moscow, Russia, 3 July 2003. With the
help of a famous Czech mobile phone website Mobilmania.cz, we can show you the LIVE
presentation and LIVE shots of MC 60. Let's see together!

Phone for
Sociable Persons
Siemens MC 60 is the M series follow up model. The press
release stresses the MC 60 is for the outgoing consumers
who socialize non-stop. That's why there is an X shape in
the middle of the handset, and MC 60 supports
exchangeable cover as well. To further realize the
concept of phone for sociable person, MC 60
comes with a CMOS camera and can take up to 352 x 288
pixels pictures.
We still remember Sony Ericsson emphasized the EasyShare
concept during the launch of SE T610. Just two click,
users can take a photo and share it with MMS client.
Siemens MC 60 also utilizes two-click picture messaging.
The number key "5" is the short key for photo
taking. The specification indicates that it can take 5
pictures within 1 second. We don't know whether it is
true or not. Also, the new phone also come equips with a
new photo editor and photo game for further
enjoyment.
However, if we compare MC 60 to Sony Ericsson T610, we
will find that the configuration of MC 60 is not so
attractive. It still uses STN 4096 colour display. The
screen solution remains 101 x 80 pixels. It only supports
16 polyphonic ring tones. The poorest is that MC 60 only
offer 1MB memory for MMS, ring tones and picture
storages, while SE T610 offers 1.8MB and Nokia 7250
around 3MB. We cannot find any IrDA port. Users have to
use data cable to transfer the photos back to handset.
The MC60 weighs 86g and is available in Aquamarine,
Titanium and Grenadine. The phone will be available
across Europe from September 2003 and in Asia-Pacific and
Latin America at a later stage this year.
