[ New Phones] Siemens C60 contemporary classic

Siemens announced three new mobile phone models for the later month of 2003 during a press event held in Moscow, Russia. The C60 is one of the colours display handset, targeting for the mature users.

In the press release, Siemens uses "contempory classic" to describe C60. The Rudi Lamprecht, member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG and President of Siemens Information and Communication Mobile explains that the C60 should be a winner with consumers who like a phone with more traditional look. Luckily, the V shape in the front handset and the exchangeable Clip-it cover provide the young elements to the new C60. We think the most classical part may be the bar-shape design.

Concerning the features, Siemens C60 is using the same platform of M55 that was announced in March 2003. Both of them use 4096 colour display, support MMS and EMS messaging service. Siemens C60 supports ICP 500 camera plug-in for taking photos and MMS making. Others features of Siemens C60 include triband frequency, 16 polyphonic ring tones and JAVA application. The press release states that the C60 will be available across Europe from September 2003, while no announcement for the availability for Asia market.
