X MOTO: Motorola ROKR E1 REVIEW
Gadgeteers have long for a real model after Motorola unveiled her
alliance with Apple to create a phone with built-in iTunes player.
We are expecting a phone with great functions brought by iTunes, and
a cool design like the iPod. Before the official launch of E1, we
are all quite disappointed to know that the phone looks just like
the one-year-old E398.
However, after testing, we found that the built-in
iTunes functions and the seducing price (HKD$1,980 / US$253) has
still make the phone rocks. |

Sleek and Slim 3G Sony Ericsson K608i
3G services have been launched in Hong Kong for over a year, but it is still yet a big hit. Not to mention the functions, sometimes the bulky phones have scared out some users. But soon after 2005 begins, Sony Ericsson has launched K600i, a 3G phone with both form factor and dimensions alike its 2.5G candy bar handsets. In June, an "elegant" version, K608i and the Vodafone-exclusive V600 have also been launched. Hopefully, it can help to attract more users to switch into 3G services. We have obtained the testing version of K608i, and the functions are the same as K600i. After some testing, we found that Sony Ericsson 3G 600series seems to be a brew of 2.5G phone K750i and 3G phone Z800i, and the overall quality is very high.

Sharp SX813 / 902 Pure Japanese excitement
Sharp exports their Japanese style handsets with lots of success. The previous GX series leaded the trends in mobile phone industry by in-corporate high quality camera and screen. Sharp also exports their first 3G phone to outside phone. In Europe, it is called Sharp 902, in Japan, named Vodafone 902SH, and in Hong Kong named Sharp SX813. The three handsets shared the same factor and similar features. ThreeGMobile.net got the sample of Sharp SX813. Here is the first hand trial report. Although it is the Hong Kong version, the handset is from the same architecture. The test result can be useful for the European or Japanese readers to consider to use Sharp 902 or not too. |

Sanyo S103 / S750 3G in Japanese style
The raise of WCDMA 3G network makes chances for Japanese mobile phone manufacturers to export their masterpieces to the outside world. Sharp does the best with Sharp 902 2 mega pixels camera 3G phones for Vodafone European customers. Sanyo also follows the suit by introducing slider series S103 and S750 to Hong Kong SmarTone and UK Orange. The slider phones support great 3G contents like video streaming, and video conferencing. They also come equipped with high-class multimedia features like 1mpx camera and 2.4 inch large TFT display. After a one month long trial of Hong Kong version S103, I think that that Japanese style phone is very impressive in multi-media perspectives........ |

It is a
practice for Nokia to hold three 'Nokia Connection' events in
Helsinki, Singapore and USA in June time. it is also the time to
announce new handsets. This year in the GSM part, 4 new models were
unvailed, named 6280, and 6270, the first two phones with Series 40
3rd edition UI; 6111, the ultra small silder phone; and 6060 the
classical clamshell.

Before attending CommunicAsia 2005, Samsung PR representative reminded me there would be 50 new products to be announced in the show.
After the selection, I am not going to cover every phone deeply, especially for those more-or-less- the same candy bar or clamshell.
I also only categorize them and briefing present their main features.

CommunicAsia can be said as a mini CeBIT in the Asia regions. This year Nokia and Sony Ericsson also chose Singapore as a location to announce the new handsets for the latter half year of 2005. Many peoples say that Asian peoples love trendy phones. That's why Sony Ericsson announced 4 fashion phones, not only for the Asian market, but for the rest of the GSM world too.
